Stack applied its three dimensional design
methodology to the conversion and rehabilitation of a 19th century
greek revival New England Carriage House into a bright and functional artist's
studio. We achieved the dual goals of installing new interior
finishes, insulation, and custom window assemblies while preserving
the original exposed timber framing. The project's signature
Architectural feature is the steel and sailcloth canopy which
also functions to minimize solar gain, one of the client's key
design requirements.
