Stack principals Andy Keating and Joshua Brandt will be presenting their vision for 21st century building systems at the May meeting of the Rhode Island chapter of the Northeast Sustainable Energy Association on May 4th. They’ll be discussing the energy-efficient Box Office and the future of green building in Rhode Island and beyond.

    Our reflector systems, both the current manual system and the projected no-fuss computer tracking system, can work with shipping containers turned into greenhouses. We need to make one window for concentrated solar inputs, running the length of the shipping container (not counting periodic roof supports), we need full insulation, we need a fan-and-gravel thermal storage unit, we have a few unique thermal needs, we need a door of course, and most greenhouse customers prefer electricity for greenhouse fans and a cold water supply. After that, many greenhouse growers want as cheap a permanent building as they can get.
